My excellent vacation in Roatan

sunny 38 °C

I traveled nearly four hours by bus right from El Salvador towards Honduras. After I got to the border I had to go walking around until eventually I came upon an official to look at my passport and give me a stamp in my passport to go into the country.

Once I was in I took another bus to a place referred to as San Pedro. The journey was said to take 2 hours and I estimated to reach my destination just before dark, however just like a number of things across the Americas, things won't always go as projected. This got me being slightly uncomfortable for the reason that I read all about how bad the kidnappings seemed to be there after dark.

Regardless, five hours later, beginning to feel drowsy and even irritated, I got to my destination in Honduras. As a way to avoid getting kidnapped, I climbed into a taxi cab and made my way to the nearest motel.

The following day I started heading to the Bay islands, found off the amazing Eastern coastline of Honduras. I had a moment to try to eat at a restaurant just before the boat came. Not a good idea, because crew members were actually giving away sick bags to people the second they were getting on, it's in most cases hardly a good sign. Immediately after we hit the very first wave. After numerous more waves, a lot less cheering.. Numerous travelers used their sick bags. The ferry boat trip was entertaining, and we were seriously happy to be off the ferry a couple of hours later.

The island of Roatan is fantastic. The shores can be exquisite and you'll find it exhilarating. Where I was residing was primarily made up of scuba diving retail stores and a small number of bars, also in the proximity of the remarkable west bay, the finest part of my travels in Honduras. There was very little junk, only light colored beach sand and serene Caribbean waters. I also consumed the most delicious cuisine here. But not only the mose delicious guacamole with fries, but the most impressive quesadillas also....

I have successfully done my open water diving training in Honduras. I expected to leave right after spending 8 days, and yet I wound up staying a few more since I wanted to complete the scuba diving lessons. Scuba diving in this place is simply remarkable, mainly because it will be really hard to locate an island with flawless visibility, serene oceans plus impressive marine life. Sorry to say, I have got zero snapshots to show you, I inserted my digital camera inside a plastic bag to be able to take pics under the sea and I ended up ruining it.....

At the very least, I really enjoyed my holiday here and I will most definately come back in a few months.....
